My Email To Congressman Joe Barton

Dear Congressman Barton, I'm proud of you for having the passion to call President Obama's presidential fiat -- requiring BP to create a 20 billion$ trust fund -- the "shakedown" it really is! This latest extra-constitutional act came right out of the Al Sharpton -- Jesse Jackson play book, and he, Obama, can't be allowed to get away with it! If his action goes unchallenged, our constitutional republic will be doomed. You are owed an apology, and I'm sorry... sorry that you were taken to the mat by Pence, Boehner and Cantor. They should be ashamed. You owed the party nothing more than a clarification of your words not a retraction of your apology to BP.

Sir, the problem with Washington DC conservatism is that men like Boehner, Pence and Cantor are completely misreading the mood of the people. You advanced conservatism and the TEA party movement several steps by taking up the sword of truth regarding Obama's outrageous power-grabbing tactics. Unfortunately, Boehner, Pence and Cantor pressured you into setting it right back. They are the ones that need to be taken to the mat, and if they aren't careful, that's exactly what we "small people" (voters) are about to do. Hang tough, do not let them muzzle the truth or the passion with which you deliver it. Clearly your allegiance is to our constitutional republic and with the people. And frankly, misters Boehner, Pence and Cantor need to grow a set.

A Word to the Wise: Support Joe Barton! (click here)

Good job. Joe was my Congresscritter when we first bought this house in 99. When redistricting happened in 2001, we got moved into Kay Granger's district.

Here's what I sent to Joe:
Representative Barton,
When my wife and I first bought our house, we were in your district. Even though we are represented by Kay Granger now, we still support you.
What the GOP leadership did to you this week was reprehensible. I have watched the entirety of your comments regarding BP, and you were spot on. You stated that BP was liable for all damages and was possibly criminally negligent. What more do the leaders want? Oh, that's right. You called out the Administration for their anti-Constitutional tactics and their Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton-style shakedown. It is about time somebody in the GOP had the intestinal fortitude to call it like it is with this bunch.
Keep up the good work!

Crawfish, Thanks for your addition to this post. I can't believe how this is all shaking out. We are in very serious trouble when people (I can no longer call them men) do to a sincere heart like Barton what they did. God help us!

Rant Brazen: Bobbie, that is the best-looking site I've ever seen. You are going to raise the property values in our neighborhood. Good post, as always. Will be looking in on you frequently. Your pal and fan, Verne.

Well said!

The GOP, once again, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory; trying to be on all sides of an issue at the same time. A sure recipe for failure.

BrianR, it's what they do best. Why is it so obvious to us "small people" but completely lost on the RNC/GOP?

What a terrific site. This is great. I too want to show appreciation for Barton's honesty. Even The Times today said, he may have something in the so called pushy bribes of the Obama Admin. The Pubs have to learn not to shoot their wounded. The Dems would have protected their own buds. The GOP needs to unite with Indies, Libertarians, Reagan Dems and crush the socialist pacifist Dems not give them amunition .

Good letter. Concerning the "wishy-washyness" of the GOP, as my father use to say, "Cr*p or get off the pot."

I believe that the GOP leadership, as it now exists, does NOT have the moral fortitude to stand up for what is correct and constitutional. This must change and change soon.

Glenn and Ghost,

I appreciate your comments. We are of the same mind. Our so called conservative leaders are lost in a Washington DC delusion wherein the politics of the situation is all they're able to see. They're not aware of what we "small people" really think. Even ordinary go along to get along democrats have begun to swallow their pride as they never wanted to see a despotic, extreme-radical-left administration determined to destroy our American way of life as Obama has attempted to do.

Remember, Obama ran as a centrist and a few too many Americans were seduced by his rhetoric. November may be our best as well as our last hope. May GOD Bless Us All - and that includes Libertarians and loyal American Democrats!!!
